They say they're better than you and you agree
He says hold my calls from behind those cold brick walls
Says come here boy, there ain't nothing for free
Another doctor's bill, a lawyer bill, another cute cheap thrill
You know you love him if you put him in your will, but ...
Who will save your soul when it comes to the powers now
Faith sighed and hung up the phone, lyrics running through her head, as they always did, making her soundtrack to the life she was now living..
One of the staff members had noticed a few of the fans hanging out at the pool with a blonde boy, causing enough of a scene that some of the older patrons had commented on it.
~Where the hell are you Lex? A little help would be nice~
Grabbing the key card and shoving it in the back pocket of her jeans, Faith walked out of the room after scribbling a quick angry note to her sister, the oversize shirt she had been wearing over her white tank top when she arrived left discarded on the chair, the heat from the day making her decision for her.
We try to hustle them, try to bust them, try to cuss them
The cops want someone to bust down on Orleans Avenue
Another day, another dollar, another war, another tower
Went up to where the homeless had their homes
So we pray to as many different gods are there are flowers
But we call religion our friend
We're so worried about saving our souls
Afraid that God will take His toll that we forget to begin but
Who will save your soul when it comes to the flowers now
~Caleb. I know it's you down there Caleb Hanson and you know better. I hate being the police around here. We talked about thisI shoulda known I couldn't trust him. Ever since we were little Caleb's been all slick words no follow through. Aunt Diana and Uncle Walker are gonna love this.~
Who will save your soul after all of those the lies that you told, boy
Walking through the lobby and into the pool area, it's skylights letting in the warm sun, Faith closed her eyes and lifted her face to it's warmth, then pulled the glasses off her head down over her eyes. It wasn't hard to find them, in the water, the girl looked like the young lady from Brazil who had only just arrived. ~AlreadyThese girls are supposed to be after the band, not the rest of the guys on the tour. She's not evenOh man, I knew this was a bad idea when Uncle Walker asked me to help out. ~
Rolling her eyes and clearing her throat Faith stopped by the edge of the pool. "Hey there cuz" she drawled, the New Orleans accent she usually downplayed heavy in her voice. "Nothin ever changes, huh, Cal? Good to know I can trust ya'."
There are addictions to feed and there are mouths to pay
So you bargain with the Devil, that you're o.k. for today
You say that you love them, take their money and run
Say, it's been swell, sweetheart, but it was just one of those things
Those flings, those strings you've got to cut
So get out on the streets, girls, and bust your butts
Smiling she bent down by the water, hands on the torn out knees of her faded jeans, long blonde hair shimmering in the sunlight, looking more like a rock and roll groupie than the one about to break up the party, her soft voice firm in it's quiet authority.
"You must be Elisa. I'm Faith and if you'd like to stay on the tour, I'd suggest getting off Mr. I'm Hanson's Cousin and heading back to your room." She paused. "Now."
Faith waited for Elisa to leave, her eyes hard as she stared at her cousin.
Who will save your soul if you won't save your own?
